TIME IS RUNNING OUT! Donate by Dec. 31 to get up to a $400 state tax credit!

by SVdP Staff on December 29, 2009

Did you know that when you support your favorite local charity you can receive up to $400 state tax credit?

_MG_2071_croppedWhen you donate to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit allows you to receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit if you itemize your deductions on your Arizona state income tax return.

You can receive a tax credit of up to $400 when filing a joint tax return, or up to $200 when filing a single tax return, and you receive the satisfaction of knowing your money is going to help the working poor.

So what does this mean?

It costs you nothing to donate to the good work of St. Vincent de Paul! And now that the baseline year requirement has been eliminated, giving has never been easier!

azcreditform2A tax credit simply reduces your final tax liability. It comes right off the top of your state tax bill, reducing the amount of money you will pay.

There is a simple form–AZ Form 321–that you must complete and include with your state tax filing in order to receive that tax credit.

Another great thing about the Arizona Charitable Tax Credit is it does not affect the tax credits you can receive for private school tuition and public school extra-curricular activities!
